I came to
Glasgow with two friends met during my studies. We planned to look for a flat
upon our arrival because we knew that it existed some scams with online ads. So
we booked a youth hostel a few days before coming.
It was
22:00 when we arrived at our youth hostel by taxi. The one and only thing we
wanted was to know our bedroom number and curl up in our bed to sleep instantly!
But nothing went as planned...
Indeed, the person at the reception told us that our booking hadn't been
registered by the software whereas we had received by email and printed the
booking confirmation. For our first night in Glasgow, we stayed on the bench in
the common room of the hostel. What a nightmare!
Our
apartment search proved more complicated than expected. We thought stay 3-4
days in hostel but we still were there two weeks later... Even if the hostel
was clean it was tiring because it wasn't our home and we couldn't unpack our
luggage.
